Bio
A career spent leading people through the work
I started in manufacturing and quality. Directing production and inventory for a Honda supplier taught me how a manufacturing facility runs and how much depends on the people on the floor. I went on to spend about 12 years as Vice President of Operations at LeVeck Lighting Products, where our sign and electrical service division more than tripled its sales under my leadership, from $1.4 million to $4.6 million a year.
Today I run operations at Facility Innovations Group. I write the procedures and train the people so the work holds up when I am not in the room. Lately I have been putting AI to work on the repetitive tasks, so people can spend their time on the parts of the job that need a person.
Community
Born here. Raised here. Still showing up.
Troy gave me my start. I was born and raised in this county, went through Piqua and Troy schools, and graduated from Troy High School. My parents and the rest of my family are from here, and I raised my kids here so they could grow up with the same kind of community around them.
When most of your life happens in one place, you want to look after it. I have coached youth baseball and softball. For many years I have worked the Troy Music Boosters strawberry donut booth at the Strawberry Festival, first as a volunteer and later for two years as the booth's chair. As chair I was the Boosters' liaison to the festival, and I coordinated the booth's operations.
I served a couple of years on the Troy Strawberry Festival executive board, and for one of those years I was also Shuttle Co-Chair. Separately, I have been the festival's Adopt-a-Berry Chair. Each job was different. Each one came down to showing up and making things easier for the next person. Volunteering has always been a family thing for me. When my kids were part of something, I helped with it.
Campaign
Promote Troy DORA
I was a co-chair of Promote Troy DORA. A campaign has a lot of moving parts, so I took on the systems behind it: the website, the social media, and the print material. Getting volunteers meant reaching out to people through social media and putting in the work to bring them in.
Years of running operations taught me to build a simple system and get people pulling in the same direction. A campaign needs the same things. Voters upheld the DORA. That took a lot of neighbors working together, and I was proud to help lead them.
