01About Brian

Career

Creating and exploring what's possible is what makes me feel most alive. I enjoy the freedom of starting with an idea, asking questions, and finding out where it can lead. That curiosity is part of how I approach my work. I care about the people around me, and I invest myself fully in the people I believe in.

My career began in quality and production at Harmon Technical Coatings, where sales growth reached 247%. At Kern & Kern, a Honda supplier, I managed quality, production, inventory, and logistics.

At Spekvantage, I managed 150 quality professionals across North America who inspected parts for Honda and its Tier 1 suppliers. I developed the automotive industry's first EDI-based inspection software system. It let us reroute trucks into our facilities, inspect the parts, and put them back into the customers' EDI tracking systems. Building it meant creating something that hadn't existed before.

For about twelve years, I served as Vice President of Operations at LeVeck Lighting Products. Under my leadership, the sign and electrical service division more than tripled annual sales, from $1.4 million to $4.6 million. Today, I run operations at Facility Innovations Group, where I write procedures, train our team, and put AI to work on repetitive tasks so people can focus on work that needs a person. Across those roles and 30 years of leading operations and quality teams, I've delivered more than 100 projects.

02Community

Community

I was born and raised in this area, attended Piqua and Troy schools, and graduated from Troy High School. My parents and whole family are from here, and I raised my children here. I value family, community, truth, human connection, and making a positive difference in people's lives.

My dad and the family before him served through churches and local organizations. Watching them was how I learned to volunteer. When my kids were involved in something, I helped with it, including coaching youth baseball and softball.

In high school I volunteered with my dad at the Troy Music Boosters strawberry donut booth during the Troy Strawberry Festival, and as an adult I came back to that same booth. I volunteered there for many years, then served two years as its chair, coordinating booth operations and acting as liaison to the festival. I've also spent a couple of years on the festival's executive board, served two years as Shuttle Co-Chair, and served as Adopt-a-Berry Chair.

03Campaign

Promote Troy DORA

As Co-Chair of Promote Troy DORA, I handled the campaign's website, social media, and printed materials. I also recruited volunteers by reaching out to people through social media.

My operations experience taught me to build a simple system and get people pulling in the same direction. I used that experience to help organize the campaign. Voters upheld the DORA. It took many neighbors working together, and I was proud to help lead them.

HandRaised

Why I started HandRaised

HandRaised is a national volunteer effort based here in Troy, Ohio. It started with something I saw over and over while helping out around town: it is hard to find volunteers.

Plenty of large organizations encourage people to get involved, and they do good work. Once someone follows them, though, nothing connects that person to a real opportunity nearby. Nobody had built that network at the personal level.

HandRaised sits in that gap. It works with people, with social media, and with those larger organizations to match someone who wants to help with a place that needs them.

People also get something back for showing up. They can log their hours and share their service. Many schools and businesses require service hours, and young people like to be recognized for what they do. That is worth building on.

If HandRaised helps one more person find a place to help, it is worth it. Raise your hand and join me.
